Living at The Cove

We have taken the plunge and bought a house in Newcastle, or rather at Port Stephens, the municipality where our over 55s lifestyle development, The Cove, is located.

6 Wagtail Way, Fullerton Cove is our NSW address.

We started redecorating as soon as we moved in.  Below is Andrew painting our feature wall in the lounge.  The colour is terracotta.

In the background is one of the new leadlight panels on either side of the front door.

The feature walls in the two bedrooms are apple green.

Here are the two leadlight door panels in their full glory.  The design is a very bold and colourful one a la Leonard French's window panels at the National Library foyer and also at the National Gallery of Victoria.

Our "new" to us,dining table which cost $250 at the Salvation Army store in Raymond Terrace with the new Bulgarian cloth that was a gift from Christo at the Bridge Club, as well as the new painting of the Sydney Harbour Bridge by a local artist.

The view of the lounge with our new red leather sofas, feature wall and leadlight windows.

Fancy dress at The Cove progressive dinner - our first social function at the village.  Jan is dressed as a jilted bride - people had to dress as the first letter of their name.  Below are Bob and Pam dressed as a buccaneer and pirate.

Below is our Middle Eastern dinner party - the first of our ethnic dinners.  We are hoping to do a different cuisine each month.

One of the popular activities at The Cove is a walk to Stockton Beach.  Here we see Newcastle in the distance and the remains of the Sigma wreck.
